One of the things I’m most excited about for our next home (whenever that happens) is picking out a new living room rug and sofa. I find myself dreaming up pretty combinations and saving them to my Pinterest board. When I heard Jenni Kayne was launching a new collection with Lulu & Georgia (two of my favorites) I added them to my collection right away. Here are four beautiful pairings for you + the reasons why I chose them.
Transitional: Stripes are always classic and tend to make a space feel casual, current and put-together. This particular rug is fairly bold. I would pair it with this neutral sofa which has a very transitional shape. Throw in a raw wood coffee table and you have a yourself a nice little coastal bungalow feel.
Retro Glam: I love the earthy green fabric on this sofa. The velvet paired with turned wooden legs makes this traditional piece a little more glamorous. Since the lines of the sofa are still quite simple, you have the freedom to pair it with a number of different rug styles. I thought the neutral geo pattern of this one offered a beautiful and interesting style contrast.
Organic Casual: This combination is all about natural, relaxed textures. This linen slipcover sofa is about as cool and casual as you can get with a sofa. I would pair it with this jute rug which is another natural fiber (like the linen) and adds a little interest with a thick weave. If you’re going for a more coastal or Californian look, this is your winning combo. Pair it with a weather wood coffee table to give this space a story.
Simple & Stately: The tufting and weathered leather of this sofa called for a simple rug to soften it up. I love the subtle texture of this rug. It feels a bit more feminine than the sofa and offers the perfect balance. I’d add an iron coffee table and some really cozy lighting to round it out.
Though it never gets very cold here in Palm Beach, I still enjoy swapping in…
