For this Spring’s One Room Challenge, I’ll be redoing a bedroom in my Mother-in-Law’s house! I have six weeks to totally transform the room and I’ll post design updates each week here on the blog and on Instagram. To view my previous ORC updates, click here. As the room nears the finish line, I can see my vision coming together but I know it’s the last little details that will really make the space.
Last week I was able to hang this beautiful canvas art by Jenny Highsmith. A client of mine introduced us and I’m so glad she did. Her work is beautiful. This particular piece is from her Serenity Collection.
I also hung this giant cork board over my desk. The room doesn’t have an inch to spare for anything unsightly so I covered it with this pretty fabric from Serena & Lily. The wood push pins have little notches in them to hold photos – how cool!
I’m still struggling with finding the right curtains. Nothing is reading quite right next to the paint color. I may just give up and go with some simple sheer white curtains. If this was a more permanent situation, I’d probably skip curtains all together and opt for trimming out the window and getting custom wood blinds.
I’m still (still) waiting on our nightstands, lamps and my desk chair. Once everything is in, I’ll be able to style and photograph!
